2015 Elections, Myth or Reality? Part 3

A frittered presidency

When president jonathan contested and won in 2011, I know people actually voted for him because he gained so many sympathy votes due to the way the northern elites acted in the bid to gain back power.  If they had allowed Nigerians see their candidates on merit then maybe Gej would have had less sympathy votes. It is interesting that fire and war wasn't the incentive then by Alhaji asari dokubo.
Its sad to note that barely a year later, as reward for people who voted him in, president GEJ rewarded us with  fuel price hike just because he was unwilling to call the nigerian customs to order to curb the smuggling of petroleum products and also prosecute and stop the subsidy scam. He instead chose the easy way of getting the masses to pay for his incompetence.

Sadly the same thing happened in the area of security, an unwillingness to act as a strong commander in chief with people majorly in the north east paying for his incompetence with their lives.

Having frittered away the goodwill he rode in with, Mr president has consistently sided with a few elites against What is best for the country,  so many things he has done defy logic, 10bn for flights by one person, 2bn for food? 250m for a car, so many terrible corrupt practices on his watch and all he could do was pardon his former boss, visit another in prison in the Uk, cahoot with the president of Chad who undermines nigerias security and generally behave like he doesn't read the nigerian national daliies.

Now the election is here, after 6 weeks postponement,  during that 6 weeks, a miracle did happen in the NE! (my faith must be failing) what the Nigerian Army couldn't do in 6 years,  they did in less than 6 weeks! they chased Boko haram from the captured towns even the sambisa forest, in one of the victory lap pictures,  I didn't see any new gun with the soldiers, I saw the same old AK47!
So were the AK47 jamming before or the army didnt know where Sambisa was?

To cap it, news came that Shekau was in Gwoza, contrary to the 2 years wait before NA would admits he is in Gwoza and another 1 year before sending 5 soldiers with 10 bullets each to fight him in Gwoza, I read that the NA had retaken Gwoza in less than 48hours of the people knowing Shekau was in Gwoza!

Oh my gwad! aren't election period a beautiful time in Nigeria?
In lagos state, the state government suddenly had money to promote, increase and pay workers 6 months salaries on the eve of the election and even gave them a day off to be able to spend the money,  if you ask me (its not "na who i go ask") I would say let Nigeria be in  a perpetual state of "is coming election" since it seems to perform governance miracles!

Back to the matter, online, APC is already celebrating victory, but going by the recent Ekiti election and the more recent IsrealI election in which the eventual losing party was tipped to win going by social media leads, APC is most likely heading for a huge disappointment.

I don't know if you watch the series "The goodwife", in one of the episodes,  everybody thought a particular candidate was set to win so people didnt really bother to come out to vote that candidate,  I sincerely hope people come out to vote and assume nothing.

But wait, there is still that ruling on the legality of the use of card reader by INEC and the judge though having refrained from restraining INEC from conduting the elections using the card reader says it reserves the power to annul the election if it determines the card reader for electioneering processes runs afoul of our constitution.
Already the President himself couldn't be accredited with the card reader and had to be accredited using the incident form! On the speed, out of over 600 voterd at his polling unit, only 14 had been accredited as at 11am and accreditation is supposed to end by 1pm! So failure is sure at that PU.

In a way different scenario, Ret General Buhari got accredited in less than 2 minutes!

So like an unending nightmare, the threat of war looms even after the election as whoever wins may do so only on paper and a deadlock looms even larger as either of the behemoth can successfully argue irregularities as per the polls in the event of a loss!

So i say again, consider a unity government,  a solution that saves life, time and our nation! God bless Nigeria.

Sec. John Kerry's wasted visit

John Kerry's wasted visit.

I think I'm getting old, if not I wouldnt have felt the surprise visit by John kerry was going to be meaningful.
I wont say I'm surprised though, he got appointed after senator Clinton couldnt stomach Obamas cloudy foreign policies and resigned.
I expected him to call for the postponement of this election seeing that INEC is ill prepared and the tension way too much for a credible elections to hold.

The APC believe they have the numbers to win but are not taking into calculations how many of the people sympayhetic to them can vote. 3 weeks to the elections, there are still so many undecided voters.

Aside that, the threat of war looms irrespective of the winner.
instead he came and in a condescending manner says the election holding will prevent violence?! Does that man actually have access to CIA security briefings or he came here to ensure Nigeria erupts in violence?

Does General Buhari have control over the street urchins and youths who unleashed mayhem in 2011 or does President Jonathan have control over the niger delta militants who few months ago barred him from stepping into the creeks?

So of what significance is the Abuja peace accord that cant be enforced? Or wasnt it after the accord the stonings and killings picked up pace?

The words of Sec. John Kerry were bereft of wisdom Or what do you make of the threat of denial of visas to any Nigerian deemed to have contributed to any unrest? And saying the US will keep sabotaging our fight against boko haram if there is post election violence!

His visit here and his utterances were not in Nigerias best intetest.

FRANCE SUSPENDS DELIVERY OF WARSHIP TO RUSSIA

French built Russian carrier

Barely 48hours after a Russian cargo plane with French military hardware and crew were detained in Kano nigeria under still unsatisfactory explanations,
France (according to AP) suspended the delivery of a warship to Russia on Tuesday, after months of speculation about what would be the biggest arms sale ever by a NATO country to the Kremlin.
More fAssociated Press

French President Francois Hollande's office announced the suspension "until further notice" after growing pressure from allies due to tensions over Russia's actions in Ukraine. The decision exposes France to eventual fines for not fulfilling the contract.
The Vladivostok, meant for delivery this month, is docked at the French port city of Saint Nazaire, where about 400 Russian sailors have spent months training aboard the vessel.

Update - Russian Cargo Plane in Kano - the plot thickens

And the plot thickens

First it was a plane bound for Chad but flew past Chad to land in Kano, and then it didn’t come from Russia but came from Central Africa republic going to Chad.
Then Russians disowned the plane and said they knew noting about it. It was a French crew they said.

Then Jesus touched Russia and it was their plane but not their cargo, the cargo belonged to the French.
In between all these Modu Sheriff the Nigerian born Chadian paid a secret visit to try and get the plane released.

Then more magic happens;
No ammunitions on board now, only French helicopters and it was being moved from CAR (as French peace keeping wound down) to Chad? Really? http://www.themoscowtimes.com/mobile/news/article/russian-plane-seized-in-nigeria-belongs-to-french-peacekeeping-mission/512688.html

So in essence, a peace keeping wound down is so secretive it involves 3 different governments with information clearance levels so high it takes over 48hours for them to get their stories straight?

Ok let’s do the maths. The plane left Bangui headed for Chad, anywhere between its flight path of hearing that N’djamena is closed, the best place to land would be Cameroon not Kano!
Because Cameroon is a French protectorate, has a defence pact with France and is nearer!

Distance between N'Djamena and Cameroon is just 604km
Distance between N'Djamena and Kano is 711km!
Distance between Bangui and Cameroon is 765km
Distance between Bangui and Kano is over 1200kms

So anyhow we look at it, Kano is a poor alternative destination for a Chad bound plane originating from Bangui.

Well, the French have been known to destabilize African nations for control of their natural resources; they were the power behind Cameroon over Bakassi issue with Nigeria. Chad is said to be eyeing the oil reserves in the Chadian basin in Borno, if France stole Bakassi by proxy, they could be helping Chad plan how to steal Borno too.

Once we hear boko haram is making use of attack helicopters we all know who to finger! Bonjour!

Russian Cargo plane in Kano - Another cover-up?

Story for the gods?

Story broke this morning few hours after I posted the AK-47 makeover and in the last lines suggested Russia could be looking at Nigeria as an alternative market due to the sanctions preventing her from exporting arms to her major customers in the US and EU.

Few hours later, news broke that a Russian cargo plane accidentally landed at Kano international airport and had been seized and the crew detained by the NA.

Mr Layi on my vibrant politics oriented bbm group quickly pointed out that there was no way a plane originating from Russia would have to pass through Nigerian airspace.

That got me thinking and I tried to make sense of the news, these are my findings.

Layi was absolutely correct..

The distance between Chad and Moscow is about 4800km as the crow flies.
That between Kano and Moscow is about 5500km as the crow flies.

Its safe to assume a Russian originating cargo plane will want to avoid flying over some countries and the distance will be a tad longer.

Chad has only one international airport, the N’Djamena international airport used for both civil and military purposes.

The Russian cargo plane with long range that could be used for such a job is either the

Heavy Transport Aircraft An - 124 "Ruslan" NATO Designation "Condor" a 4 engine aircraft that can fly at a maximum altitude of 12000 meters and go a maximum distance of 4500km if carrying full payload (150 tons) but with about 40t payload, range becomes 12000km
this means it can conveniently reach chad or Nigeria without stopping to refuel.
It requires just 6 crew to operate.

or

The russian cargo plane Ilyushin Il-76 (NATO designated "Candid"), a multi-purpose four-engine strategic airlifter designed by the Ilyushin design bureau. It was first planned as a commercial freighter in 1967, as a replacement for the Antonov An-12. It was designed for delivering heavy machinery to remote, poorly served areas of the USSR. Military versions of the Il-76 have seen widespread use in Europe, Asia and Africa, including use as an airborne refueling tanker or as a command center.

It requires just 5 crew to operate, has a higher operating altitude of 13000 meters but lower payload of 50tons max. the range is 4300km if its carrying maximum payload and thus will need to stop to refuel if it originated from Moscow.

Both planes have various variants. However Russia is the only country that uses both for military purposes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-124_Ruslan

Thus we can safely conclude the plane is Russian since the cargo is military hardware and its the Ilyushin Il-76 because 5 crew members were reportedly detained.

Attempted Spin

According to Reuters reports later came that the crew is French and the plane originated its flight from Bangui in the Central African Republic. Two helicopters were on board a bullet proof jeep and some other boxes
The plane will overfly Chad to get to Bangui!

Research shows the distance between CAR and Moscow is about 5600km, further than that to Nigeria as you can see in the map above. So we can safely dismiss it detoured to refuel at C.A.R. We also heard the Ndjamena airport was closed and that was why they had to land at Kano, the question remains, why fly to CAR if you were going to Chad?!

My Conclusion?

The only way that plane could have "accidentally" landed at Aminu Kano international airport is only if the destination was Kano in the first place. The story does not "gel"

Boko Haram and the mysterious white men - Part 1

Boko Haram and the Mysterious White Men - The mercenaries

"A military helicopter with five people on board, on Monday Nov 10, 2014, crash-landed in Riverside area of Damare of Girei Local Government Area, some few miles away from Yola, at about 9.30 a.m.

The helicopter was said to have only white people, four men and one woman on board, but only two sustained various degrees of injuries.

Effort to reach authorities concerned failed as the entire area was surrounded by military men, stopping anybody to go close to the scene.

One of the military men told journalists that it was an order from above not to say anything or a...." this was reported by http://www.tribune.com.ng

So i heard on the 10th of Nov. 2014 that a chopper with 5 Caucasian passengers had crashed at Adamawa. 4 men and a woman.
The locals attempted a rescue but were later chased away by Nigerian soldiers that secured the scene. Guns and ammunition and money were reportedly onboard and the flight path showed it was heading towards Mubi a hotbed of a raging gun battle.

The Nigerian military admitted a chopper indeed crashed but said the chopper was on a training mission and also denied the presence of white men on board contrary to eye witness accounts as reported by silverbirds TV that a Whiteman in combat uniform came looking for help before ambulances arrived and more choppers came to ferry other things away....  Silverbirdtv.com

The chopper was reportedly blown up a typical MO of covert operations.

In the Kano central mosque bomb blast another Whiteman was fingered as the culprit having been seen fidgety as he walked into the mosque accompanied by two teenage boys and later remote detonated the bomb on the kids. http://jaguda.com

So who are these mysterious white men?
What do they want in Nigeria, whose side are they on and why is the government keeping them out of the news?

The Conspiracy

My initial thought when the chopper crash news broke was they were American soldiers helping Nigeria combat the insurgency after the capture of the girls in Chibok but with details emerging that cash was on board the chopper I had a rethink.

Ammunition and weapons, fine but what do you need cash for in a war zone? It can’t be for the Nigerian government soldiers, what would they be doing with dollar bills? If it’s not for them then it must be for the insurgents.

Giving credence to the the Kano bomb blast theory. Meaning Nigeria (not the Nigerian govt) is fighting a formidable foe bent on our destruction as a nation!

The next step was identifying who these white men are working for.

Weeks back, as the Nigerian army appeared to be incapable of confronting the boko terrorists, I had advocated in Solace my political oriented vibrant bbm group that if the Nigerian army couldn’t do the job then we should get mercenaries to fight for us since we can actually afford it and that payment of soldiers should be done directly to ensure they get their money and boost their morale.
As a sharp boy, I went searching for mercenaries online, However on my research,  I discovered that the use of mercenaries was prohibited by a UN charter of which Nigeria was a signatory to in 1990 http://en.m.wikipedia.org
Further research however showed we could use private military contractors; naturally the name that immediately popped up in my mind was Blackwaters worldwide.

Enters Private Military Contractors (PMC, fancy name for mercenaries)

Blackwaters was the company exposed by Assange to have murdered civilians in Iraq and they were working for the US govt.
So I tried to contact Blackwaters only to discover Nigeria currently had private military contractors working for us! http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_military_company

And balckwater worldwide, which had changed her name first to Xe and then to Academi is involved in Nigeria.

Long before the name change, the founder Erik Prince a former US navy seal had advocated the use of PMC to protect American oil interests in Africa especially Nigeria due to activities of the Niger delta militants. And yes, PMC were fingered in the indiscriminate use of helicopter gunship to decimate communities in the Niger delta region.

Triple canopy, a private military contractor has been in Nigeria since 2007, under the usual cover for PMC which is provision of military training or security for high value targets.

Now it gets more interesting, Triple Canopy and ACADEMI (Blackwater Worldwide new name) teamed up to form Constellis Holdings and then bought another company named Constellis Group ,(a leading provider of security, support and advisory services to government, multinational corporations and international organizations operating in challenging environments around the world.). Constellis Holdings was formed by the founders of Triple Canopy and the private equity investors who formed ACADEMI.

The transaction created a badass group, including: Triple Canopy, Constellis Ltd., Strategic Social, Tidewater Global Services, National Strategic Protective Services, ACADEMI Training Center and International Development Solutions.

So whats he saying?

It’s scary enough to know that foreigners have been using Nigerians as target practice because PMC have not been known to be ethical; they are soldiers of fortune that can be managed only by savvy and responsible governments when used. They have, for instance, been employed in the civil wars in Congo, Angola and Sierra Leone, both by governments and insurgents, fighting for both sides!
But how many people saw them in any of the fire fights or the massacres as the rebels amputated their fellow citizen’s limbs?!

Tie back to boko haram.

Remember how we have been unable to understand how a supposed band of miscreants plan attacks and trounce our soldiers repeatedly? Our soldiers who were feared for their bravery and professionalism around Africa (before AFRICOM, a PMC staffed contraption by the USA came?)
Is it that these mysterious white men are private military contractors working for the government (Adamawa chopper crash) and also working for boko haram (the detonation of the bomb in the Kano mosque)? (If they were solely working for the government, there would be no need to destroy the boxes of dollars except they knew they wouldn't be able to explain what the money was meant for to the authorities!)

I know you ask, why would they work for both sides? well they are soldiers of fortunes, if the war stops they stop getting paid, so they will do anything to sustain the war after all the people dying are Nigerians not  them!

Is this why Boko haram have been so resourceful, their propaganda so effective? Are their activities being planned from the USA using sophisticated computer simulations to cause
maximum chaos? Is this why supposed almajiris give our soldiers the chase on the battle field? Remember the use of anti aircraft guns in Mubi by these insurgents? Remember the call that came to the air force pilot that told him to turn back which allowed insurgents take over Mubi, who can have access to hacking a secure military communication channel? Remember the precision timed attacks and synchronised explosions followed by multiple campaigns on several fronts?
Is this why it seems the army can only hold and prevent their advancement for a little while and their attacks seems to gauge public opinion before being launched? So who monitors the social media for them gauging public perception? Shekau?! I don’t think so!
And can you observe he reads from a script almost every time he speaks? Yes same blue covered scripts used by film makers! So who are his puppet masters?
A week after the Kano bomb blast, boko haram is yet to claim responsibility so who really bombed Kano Central mosque?!

Who are these mysterious white men and what do they want?
Who are they really working for and what is their end game?

Sneak peek from Part2. Boko haram - The Bill Gates angle!

Who will start a war from a region with no natural resources that could easily pay for the cost of the war? The north has no oil production yet and still the conflagration threatening to swallow Nigeria up conveniently started from there. The oil region in the south south is peaceful at the moment. So what then is greater than oil?

The people! People will be around long after oil is gone. The war from the North started because of the people, look to your ministry of agriculture to understand what I’m saying..

Mermaids - are they real?

Mermaids or "mammy water" as we know them in Nigeria, are they real?

It was a bright lovely day in December 1983, I had just come back from school, I was in primary 4.
The previous day, my father had thrown away my plastic ball over the fence in annoyance because i came back from school, refused to complete my home work and proceeded to enjoy a game of football all by myself as I had no one to play with; I was a protected kid and the only boy for more than five years.
I got back from school, having bought another ball with my lunch fees because I was given free lunch by the cooks because my mum was the headmistress of the school.

I played my heart out in my lone game dribbling imaginary opponents and scoring so many goals Messi would be ashamed today.

One second I was scoring goals, the next I saw myself flying headlong in a perfect dive into the raised but uncovered water well in my compound.
I hit the water, curled up in foetal position and tumbled to the bottom, on the way down I tried screaming but water rushed into my mouth and I knew to keep my mouth shut.
I hit the bottom and instinctively pushed myself up, as I rose back to the surface my life flashed past me, all I had done, my friends, my brother and sisters, my parents crying, everything flashed in that brief moment. I saw all my past and a glimpse of the immediate future of my death in that brief instant!
I broke the surface and started tumbling again. when I reached bottom, I pushed myself up again, this time as I broke the surface, something told me to spread myself out so I wouldn’t go back down so I wedged my self speared eagle in the well which was the position my father and neighbours met me to effect a rescue.

Hehehe, yes there was no mermaid; it was a water well not the sea!

But are mermaids real? I'm not talking about spiritual stuffs I am talking about real flesh and blood beings living in the oceans and lagoons.

I worked in Eket for a few years, I worked offshore and made it a point to look into the sea anytime I was free or at the boat landing all in hope of sighting a mermaid aside seeing the ever playful dolphins, jelly fishes, stingrays and occasionally courting whales, I didn’t see one. However I heard stories and was involved at a time with a lady who had a mermaid husband, yes you heard me, mermaid husband who gave her money and jewellery whenever she needed it, but it was spiritual because I never got to see the mermaid guy.

Later I launched into learning more and to see if I could meet one. These were some of what I found out.

1. I came to understand that we know more about outer space than we know of what lies beneath our oceans, if we take into account we know so very little about what’s in space then we know absolutely nothing about what’s in our oceans. So mermaid could certainly exist.

2. Fishermen have caught fishes in high seas and found spears made of fish bones embedded in their sides, some sharks have been disemboweled and remains of humanoid creatures with fish like features found in them.

Russian fishermen have a short clip of something caught in their net that lunged at them and slipped back into the sea as the crane operator panicked.
During a US navy sonic weapon test that caused mass beach washing of dead aquatic animals, two young brothers came across a mermaid right in the beach!

3. Why do dolphins save humans or hunt with us? Asian fishermen work in collaboration with dolphins who drive fish into their nets and the fishermen give the dolphins their own share after the cash right in open seas! These fishermen stand in shallow waters and call out to the dolphins in the sea, these dolphins drive and herd the fish towards the fishermen who spread their nets to haul in the catch. The dolphins must have been hunting with human like creatures in the seas!

4. I read a story when I was about 15, a boy mermaid was caught in USSR by fishermen who asked him to tell them where it came from with a promise to release him back into the sea, he did but they refused to keep the bargain, and he said before they turned him over to Russian scientists that USSR would break up within two years. This was at a time USSR breaking up seemed impossible, I watched to see if its predictions would come true and behold it did as USSR split under Gobarchev!

5. Traditions in Nigeria of Osun worshippers involve sacrifice to mermaids who show up when summoned. Fishermen in Epe in Lagos attest to mermaids showing up especially when angry with how they fish.
There is the story of the man named Julius Berger, yes, the same coy that construct roads who died building a bridge after capturing 2 mermaids whom asked to be released but he refused. I remember reading a story decades ago in a newspaper about a man who was having a swim at bar beach and seeing a Caucasian male far ahead in the water swam up to him trying to prove that he could best the man in swimming only for him to get near and few minutes later the man did the dolphin dive and he saw he had a fish tail!

Below are some videos clips.
The main one is of two brothers who went inspecting beached whales (attributed to US navy sonic weapons tests, there was a similar beaching of a whale in Lagos at the bar beach), the younger filmed with one of the earlier versions of camera phones whilst the older one took a stick to prod a strange creature and it turned out to be a humanoid creature.

Yes, circumstantial at best but see the images and documentary below and tell me if these beings exist or not?
They can be explained by all theories possible including the creation stories!
I believe mermaids exist, what about you?
